In its simplest terms investing is Making your money work so that it makes more money for you. Unlike people, money does not get tired, it does not get sick, and it does not get burned out. All money needs is a smart owner who knows how to invest.
My goal is to show you why you should be investing in something.
Ready? Let’s get started!
Why should I invest my money?
I am guessing nobody really thinks about it, but the biggest enemy we are all fighting is INFLATION. Inflation is the overall increase of the prices of goods year after year after year.
When it comes, it hits everything from our necessities and our comforts in life.
Some of you, readers probably remember that time when a few cents were more than enough to get you through the day. Today, it would be extremely difficult to survive on that small amount. With these few cents you can only buy a piece of candy, not a complete meal.
Whether we like it or not, the prices of food, transportation, rent, and other necessities will continue to increase.
And in the same way, the things that a few cents can buy will decrease. This is the ugly truth.
Inflation is an invisible force that moves us financially backwards little by little. We know that it is there, but we prefer to ignore it and keep on working hard for our dreams. What we don’t realize is that inflation is pushing us further and further away from what we work for. If you dream your dreams cost $1 million now, it will cost $1.2 million in five years. In ten years, it will cost $1.6 million, and in 20 years, it will nearly triple to $2.8 million. The good news is that we can fight inflation. This is by learning how to invest.
Did I convince you? Great! Now let’s see why you should invest in the stock market and not somewhere else.
I can give you 1001 reasons why you should invest in the stock market, but for now I will concentrate on 2 categories to prove my point:
The first is of a purely financial reason, while the second is about your growth as an investor.
1) Invest in Stocks to Grow Your Money
This is the plainest reason to invest and is often at the core of why people buy stocks.
When done right, you can grow the money you invest by anywhere from 7% — 10% per year over the long term.
Let’s say that you invest $10,000 in the stock market today and it gains roughly 7% per year. You will turn that $10,000 into $20,000 in just 10 years. Do I need to say more? Watch the video to learn more.
2) It’s about Financial Literacy
You should always remember that investing in the stock market involves a lot more responsibility than making a one-time bank deposit. And because it requires a little more responsibility, you get to learn more. As a reward, you also get to earn more.
As someone who believes that financial literacy is the solution to poverty, investing in stocks is very important to me. If everyone of us knew how to manage their money well and how to invest, we can all create the wealth we work so hard for.
